The R.E.A.L Philosophy
OCD clinicians should be trained not only in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) but also supported in developing their own, flexible, on-the go treatment interventions that are authentic and compatible with the realities of everyday life. OCD is rigid but we don't have to be. R.E.A.L is an intuitive and practical recovery model developed by actual, frontline clinicians who understand what is involved in treating OCD within the parameters of private practice. Let's Get REAL
We are two OCD specialists who provide training and educational resources to clinicians in areas in which there are few OCD providers. We volunteer our time liberally, travel the US providing lectures and trainings, and support clinicians across the globe in enhancing their own clinical practices. We are passionate about OCD recovery.
The webinar and distance-learning formats of R.E.A.L. Recovery make obtaining proper training for OCD recovery easier than ever. As clinicians who regularly engage in OCD treatment with actual clients, we understand the real-life struggles providers encounter when trying to apply theory-based OCD modules within busy, constricted private practice environments. Further, we have identified gaps in OCD treatment knowledge and developed focused trainings that enhance even the most seasoned clinician's repertoire. The R.E.A.L. program is like no other. Because we do not work in the realm of academia, we get what you encounter and what you need in order to better serve your clients. Over the past several years, we have developed surveys and fine-tuned our training program for OCD around real feedback from real clients and clinicians. We have collected information, spoken face-to-face with many sufferers and family members, as well as some of the leading researchers in the OCD world. We pounded the pavement and then put all the data together to enhance OCD recovery, making it real recovery.
